Today’s Bill Campbell What’s That Song, written by Thom Bell and Linda Creed and originally titled Keep Growing Strong, was first recorded by Connie Stevens in 1970. A year later The Stylistics, a soul group with Philadelphia roots, released the song under the title Betcha By Golly, Wow. In 1972, The Stylistics released it as a single that climbed to #3 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.

- On April 17, 1972, The Recording Industry Association of America awarded The Stylistics their second gold disc in recognition of selling over one million copies of Betcha By Golly, Wow globally.
- Betcha By Golly, Wow made it to the #2 spot on Billboard’s R&B chart and #13 on the UK Singles chart in July 1972.
- Billboard ranked Betcha By Golly, Wow 18 on its year-end 1972 Hot 100 chart
