December 18, 2020December 8th marked the 40 year anniversary of the tragic shooting of John Lennon. The Legendary Beatle and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was remembered by adoring fans, and New Yorkers who still consider him one of their own.
The gathering was just one of many worldwide that took place. Strawberry Fields in New York’s Central Park saw fans from all over come to pay their respects with flowers and candles, as they sung several of Lennon’s songs in remembrance of the iconic Beatle.
Paul McCartney chimed in as well tweeting: “A sad sad day but remembering my friend John with the great joy he always brought to the world. I will always be proud and happy to have known and worked with this incredible Scouser! X Love Paul”. Ringo Starr also tweeted “December 8, 1980 we all had to say goodbye to John peace and love John. I’m asking every music radio station in the world sometime today to play Strawberry Fields. Forever Peace and Love”.
John Lennon’s presence and his fight for peace has clearly made as much an impact on the world as his musical library. IMAGINE THAT John? IMAGINE THAT? #stilladreamer
