Just because TuneIn has dumped us doesn’t mean you can’t listen to The Boss. Luckily there are literally THOUSANDS of internet radio apps and portals that carry us. Here is a short list of how to replace TuneIn on your devices to listen to us:
For devices that won’t work with the free Boss Boss Radio app, we prefer MyTuner Radio. Install the free MyTuner Radio app on your device and search for us and remember to mark us as a favorite. It works on all these devices:
- Alexa Smart Devices: Say to your smart speaker: “Alexa, ask My Tuner Radio to get Boss Boss Radio” Alexa will confirm with “Playing Boss Boss Radio from Los Angeles”
- Apple TV, Sonos and Roku
- Tablets that can’t use the Boss Boss Radio app (Android/Amazon)
Google Home Users:
It is a little more tricky, since Google Home doesn’t support non-TuneIn portals voice activated. BUT, you can cast us to your Google Home device by doing the following:
- First, you’ll need the free MyTuner Radio app on your mobile device
- Search for us on MyTuner and make us a favorite
- You need to be in the same room as your Google Home device AND on the same wifi network (your mobile device needs to be in wifi mode)
- Begin playing us through the app on your mobile then click on the cast icon to advance to the Cast screen.
- Click on your Google Home device from the list.
- Once we are playing through your Google Home smart speaker you can close the app on your mobile but do not stop the playback.
We should stay connected. If you want to resume playing us you’ll need to open the MyTuner Radio app and repeat steps 3-5 to play us. We know it’s not optimal and you can no longer voice activate us on your Google Home device. Sorry for the inconvenience.
You can also bluetooth us from your mobile devices to any bluetooth enabled speaker.
There are even other options for listening to us on your smart device.
Of course you can listen on your smart device using the free Boss Boss Radio app, or our Listen Live player which works on all Android and iOs devices from your browser.
And good news! We’re working on getting our OWN Alexa skill. We will air the details as soon as it is ready, hopefully in the next few days.
