Totally Useless Trivia 80s Style!
April 8, 2020The GOAT Top 75
May 26, 2020What a difference a couple of weeks can make in our lives. I don’t need to remind you of the challenges that face us all and the uncertainty of the future amid the coronavirus pandemic. Hard to believe that something could bring the world to its knees.
I know you’re tired of your house, the restrictions on gathering, and hearing and reading “we’re all in this together.” Me too.
There are now six of us at my house. We’re taking turns washing dishes and preparing meals, watching a lot of movies—thank goodness one of them has a Vudu library! We’re staying safe and taking all kinds of precautions when we do have to venture out for provisions. We are NOT hoarding, but we do have a partial 12-pack of Quilted Northern “Megas.”
This is certainly a new time for radio. No doubt you’ve noticed terrestrial over the air radio stations in your home town have scrambled to accommodate the lockdowns. It took some time for radio to maneuver to single home studios, with “iffy” results. In some cases, low advertising revenue projections have many stations laying off or furloughing personnel.
At Boss Boss Radio, we’ve been ahead of the curve and have been operating from remote studios for more than eight years. We were the first to have show hosts from all over the globe broadcasting from their individual studios on a daily basis. We’ve had Boss Jocks do their shows from far off worlds, such as Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, and even Fresno, CA. 😉
The lockdown is hitting traditional radio pretty hard, since the majority of listening to over the air radio is in the car, and since our cars are parked more now than usual, your radio listening is going to happen at home. Boss Boss Radio is already right at home in your house, entertaining and informing you via your mobile device, smart speaker or Bluetooth speaker or even your computer. In fact, you’ve been listening to us like this for years. When was the last time you even turned on an AM/FM radio in your house?
Oh, and there is one more important quotient in this at-home equation, and that is you. We like to think we’re one of the family at your house, and while that might sound corny, we really do want to interact with you and do as often as possible. We invite you to interact with us on Social Media, via our text lines, check-in links, and websites. You really are the reason we do what we do, sharing stories and memories, and you are a part of that story.
At Boss, we have big plans for expansion in 2020. Our goal is to add more genres to our list of stations like Boss Country Radio and PlayFM. The effect the pandemic is having on the radio industry and the economy has us in a holding pattern right now and will continue to affect the way we grow our business now for the foreseeable future. However, we plan to be here for a long time, sharing more of our story and yours with the Greatest Boss Hits of All Time.
I hope you are safe and healthy. Our prayers are with you and yours in these difficult times.
