See the Smile Awaitin’ in the Kitchen
June 28, 2019The Next Boss Jock For A Day
June 30, 2019It was 1967 when the group Chicago first formed, in Chicago, of all places. They soon became known as The Chicago Transit Authority. While a very Boss name, legend has it that the true Chicago Transit Authority wasn’t pleased (you know the municipality that owns the “L”) so in 1969 they shortened their name to Chicago. Over the years, Chicago has delivered many hits, and in September 2008 was ranked #13 on Billboard’s Top 100 Artists of All Time for Hot 100 singles. Chicago was inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
Chicago is on tour throughout the summer and fall of 2019. You can check out their tour dates on their Facebook page by clicking here.
It is the 50th Anniversary of the multi-platinum album Chicago Transit Authority. A newly remixed version of the album will be released on August 30th. Chicago Transit Authority (50th Anniversary Remix) will be available on CD and as a double-LP on 180-gram vinyl as well as through digital and streaming services on the same day.
Originally released on April 28, 1969, Chicago Transit Authority topped the album chart, was certified double platinum, and earned the band a Grammy® nomination for Best New Artist. The album also has the unique distinction of having stayed on the charts for an amazing three-year run (171 weeks)—a record when it was released. Chicago Transit Authority was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014.
